Sometime in August 2015, Ocean Deep Services Ltd (ODSL) started a journey to make history in the area of maritime training via her subsidiary Ocean Deep Maritime Academy. The introduction of the Security awareness course as part of the Standard for Certification and Watch Keeping (STCW) under the International Ship and Port Security (ISPS) Code in January 1, 2012 placed on a transitional provision until January 1, 2014 led to a decline in the boarding of Nigerian Seafarers by all foreign vessels in 2014, ODSL in her quest to delivering to her clients within Nigeria and around the world a service that is factual and relevant and to ensure that Nigerian Seafarers are well certified and ready to take up their rightful position in Shipping industry made frantic efforts to notify the Nigerian Maritime and Safety Agency (NIMASA) to endorse and organize trainings to improve manpower in the industry.
In our quest to become a leading Maritime Training Agency in Nigeria and stand out as one of the best Crewing/Manning Professionals in the world. Ocean Deep Maritime Academy was born.
To further the above quest, we took a decision to partner with one of the World’s leading Maritime Online Schools (Marlins). Therefore, in August 2015, we set out to make history when our Executive Director Operations, (Macfoy Rollens (Mrs)) visited the Marlins office in Glasglow UK to cement the partnership.
